CoSort 10 is Here!

IRI is pleased to announce a long-awaited upgrade to CoSort. V10 supports and adds:

▪     New data sources, like HDFS, S3, and S/FTP
▪     Formats like MongoDB, JSON, and UTF-8
▪     Data streaming through MQTT (for IoT), Kafka, and HTTP/S channels
▪     More automatic tuning to boost performance for many existing jobs
▪     Additional data mapping, quality, and masking features

CoSort 10 runs on local or cloud servers. Official support for v9.5 will end on December 31, 2020.

New Data Masking Features

Schema-Wide Search: IRI has added schema-wide pattern search technology to its menu of data discovery options to facilitate compliance with the GDPR’s Right to Be Forgotten and Data Portability requirements.

Age/Date Blurring: FieldShield and Voracity users can now use random noise (blurring) functions to perturbate age and date values. These and other data generation techniques, in conjunction with built-in re-ID risk scoring, allow HIPAA-covered business associates to retain the marketing and research value of PHI while complying with the Expert Determination Method rule.

Unstructured Data: IRI is introducing “DarkShield” to “discover, deliver, and delete” PII from unstructured text (log, transcript, email, app log) and pdf files. MS docs, still and video images, audio and more formats are planned.

FACT v2 Support Termination

As announced in previous newsletters, FACT v2 support officially ends on 30 June 2018. All new shipments and updates for FACT users require v3.2 or later. Please contact for assistance.
